I stumbled upon Weleda Skin Food for the first time while doing research for another blog post While researching clean beauty body products, I decided to do a quick search to see what body lotions and creams celebrities use. I challenge you to Google “Celebrities Favorite Body Creams” and see how many hours you waste! Literally hours…🤦♀️
Anyway, about this cream…
Turns out Victoria Beckham, Julia Roberts and Adele are huge fans of Weleda Skin Food. All three beauties credit Weleda Skin Food as their secret weapon for beautiful, glowing, healthy skin.
What is Skin Food?
Skin Food is an ultra rich cream moisturizer for dry, rough skin. The 100% all natural cream was originally launched by Weleda in 1926 and has been a cult favorite ever since. The rich plant blend formula transforms skin to appear more luminous.
Weleda Skin Food Ingredients
Skin Food hydrates the skin to give a healthy-looking glow with extracts of gentle viola tricolor, calendula and chamomile, in a rich, thick base of oils and beeswax.
The ingredient list includes rosemary leaf extract, calendula, chamomile, sunflower seed oil and sweet almond oil. Weleda Skin Food is free of synthetic fragrances, colorants and preservatives.
All of the products in Weleda’s line are paraben free, Phthalate-free, GMO-free, Synthetic Fragrance-free and Sodium-Laurel-Sulfate (SLS) free. Weleda is a cruelty-free brand certified by the European organization NATRUE, which requires that no cosmetics be tested on animals.

How to Use Weleda Skin Food
This cream is a multi-tasker and it can be used anywhere on the body. Apply to dry, rough skin on areas such as hands, elbows and feet. Weleda Skin Food can also be used to moisturize the face or as a primer before applying makeup.
Weleda Skin Food Review – My Take
I started using Skin Food on dry areas like my hands, knees and elbows and quickly fell in love with it. This cream is very dense and you only need a little bit of it. It is somewhat difficult to spread but I’ve found that warming it in your hands a bit first helps a lot with the application. That being said, this little green tube works wonders on dry skin. It is extremely hydrating and lasts for hours. You can also use this cream on your face! In fact it has been said to be a dupe for the very expensive La Mer Moisturizing Cream which sells for $311.00 USD!
If you find Skin Food too dense or too rich, you can try Weleda Skin Food Light, a lighter, quickly-absorbed lotion formula that provides the same benefits as the original cream. In fact, the original Skin Food line has recently expanded to include a new Skin Food Body Butter and Skin Food Lip Butter.
I’m not crazy about the smell, it has an earthy scent that I’m not too fond of. The good news is the scent goes away quickly and does not linger.
Overall, I really love this cream. Weleda Skin Food, along with the other products in the Skin Food line are great affordable, clean beauty options for anyone with dry, rough skin on the face, body or lips.
Price: $12 – $19 USD

I can remember we used that cream way back when in Germany when I grew up. We loved it because my mom swears by it for her very dry feet. Thanks for braining it back
A dupe for La Mer?! Count me in. My elephant-like skin needs help.
Hi Suzie, yes, I was thinking a dupe for Le Mer, that sounds good. I am also one for things that either are unscented or not a strong scent. Sounds very moisterizing. Appreciate the review!

It’s been around since 1926 and I’ve never heard of it! Great review and sounds wonderful. I actually like a little heavier cream … and all natural and that price point cant be beat!
