Maybelline Facestudio Master Prime Review

After reading good things about this Primer, I decided to try Maybelline Facestudio Master Prime.  I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and have been pleasantly surprised with the texture and ease of application.  This primer comes in three formulas, Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Smooth, Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Illuminate , Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Redness Control and Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth Primer.

All four formulas come in a squeeze tube package with a lightweight, creamy texture somewhat like a light moisturizer.  They are said to blur skin imperfections and smooth fine lines.  They apply easily and absorb well.  As with any Primer, the goal is a smoother, more even toned surface for makeup application.  Let’s break the formulas down.

Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Smooth

The Blur + Smooth formula is white and applies transparent.  It is said to visually blur skin tone imperfections and the appearance of pores.

Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Illuminate

Blur + Illuminate is pink and applies to a pink pearl finish.  It doesn’t appear shiny or greasy and just provides a subtle luminous glow.  This is the formula I’ve been using (pictured below).   This formula also blurs the appearance of pores and skin tone imperfections.  One big benefit of the Blur + Illuminate formula is that it includes an SPF30!  This is the main reason I chose this formula!

Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Redness Control

Blur + Redness Control is green and helps get rid of redness.  As with the other two formulas, it blurs the appearance of pores and even skin tone.

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth Primer

Overall, Maybelline Master Prime Primers are lightweight and non-oily they provide a good smooth surface that helps makeup stay put.  They are a good pick for those with Normal, Normal to Dry or Dry Skin. Those with oily skin may not find them mattifying enough.

Have you tried Maybelline Master Prime Primers? What is your favorite Primer?  Please leave your comments below.  As always, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Until next time…
