No7 Match Made Bronzer Review

Bronzers have become a staple in our everyday makeup routines.  They add a bit of radiant color in the Winter and a healthy glow in the Summer.  The challenge, for me, has been finding a Bronzer that doesn’t make me look like a clown.  I find many are too orange and too streaky.  There are tons of higher end Brands that make really good bronzers, but they can be quite expensive.  I don’t mind splurging on one occasionally but I’m always looking out for a good dupe from the drugstore.  Despite a number of fails in this area, I saw the Match Made Bronzer from No7 at Ulta recently and decided to give it a try.

The Product Claim

According to No7, “Match Made Bronzer is an expert blend of powders and emollients that gives a blendable, comfortable finish to create a natural looking, healthy glow.  The matte finish keeps you shine free all day and the silky soft powder blends and builds effortlessly, allowing you to achieve a perfectly bronzed finish.”

Packaging & Formula

I have to say the packaging of this Bronzer is one of the things that attracted me to it.  It comes in a beautiful bronze compact with No7’s logo etched into the lid.  This Bronzer is a powder formula and the compact contains only the powder itself.  There is no brush or sponge included. I think that was smart of No7.  Since most of the brushes normally included in powder compacts are totally useless and get thrown away, why bother?  I’d rather see the brand focus on the product itself and forget the silly brushes!

No7 Match Made Bronzer is a finely milled, creamy powder.  It is a velvety, matte finish with no sparkle, glitter or shimmer.

No7 Match Made Bronzer Review
No7 Match Made Bronzer comes in a beautiful bronze compact and is available in three shades. Shown here is the lightest shade, Golden Sand.

Shade Selection

Match Made Bronzer is available in three shades, all very similar.  Golden Sand is the lightest shade with cool undertones, Caramel is the medium shade with warmer undertones and Maple is the deepest shade.  I purchased this in Golden Sand which is perfect for my Fair to Light Skin.  If you are unsure as to which shade would suit you best, No7 has an “App for that”!

No7 Match Made Bronzer is the newest addition to No7’s Match Made line of products.  Match Made is a group of products that are tailor-made for your skin tone and type.  No7 has developed an App that reveals the correct, color matched No.7 products for your skin tone.  Once you’ve determined your Match, you can easily find the correct shade for your skin tone, including foundation, lipstick and the Match Made Bronzer.

To use the Match Made App, you need to pick up the Match Made Card at your local Walgreens, download the free App and then:

  • Rinse your face of all makeup
  • Hold the card up to the side of your face
  • Snap a photo
  • A few shots later, and your done!

Honestly, I wasn’t even aware of this Match Made System when I purchased the Bronzer.  While it’s probably very helpful with foundation and lipstick shades, you can easily guess your bronzer shade based on your skin tone.  Because the shades are very similar, you really can’t go wrong with this, with our without the App.

Application & Wear

This Bronzer, which I’ve been applying using my Real Techniques Blush Brush, glides effortlessly onto the skin and blends like a dream.  It works well for contouring, adding color to the high points of the face or for all over color and warmth. The result is a beautiful, sun-kissed glow that doesn’t look like you are “wearing” bronzer.  The finish lasts throughout the day without fading and doesn’t cake or settle into fine lines and wrinkles.

Price

$12.99 USD 0.35 oz

Dupe?

No7 Match Made Bronzer is a good dupe for the NARS Laguna Bronzer, one of my favorites that I’ve used off and on over the years.  The formulas are very similar and each provide a healthy, radiant glow without looking overdone.  The price tags however, are quite different!  Nars Laguna Bronzer will set you back $40.00 USD for 0.28 oz. versus $12.99 USD for the No7.  Clearly, a no brainer if you’re looking to save some bucks!

Final Verdict

No7 Match Made Bronzer gets a bit thumbs up in my book.  This bronzer gives just the right amount of color and results in a natural, radiant glow.  The shades are suitable for most skin tones and the price is affordable.  If you’re looking for a quality Bronzer from the Drugstore, No7 Match Made Bronzer would make a fabulous addition to your makeup drawer!

  1. Awesome review, I had not heard of this brand, not sure we get in Canada but I will look for it next time I am in the US – love the packaging which I am a sucker for and all three shades are lovely although I would need one for light skin tone. Your comment about finding one that doesn’t make you look like a clown really rang true for me lol Thanks for the review!
